Keals, N.J. [B. App. Sc (Hons)] - Natalie is involved in a joint project with the Centre for Legumes in Mediterranean Agriculture (CLIMA) and Agriculture Western Australia, funded by GRDC. This project involves the taxonomy and control of bruchid pests of temperate pulse and forage legumes. Previously she work on the project controlling Stable Fly (Stomoxys calcitrans) which is a problem to livestock on the Perth Swan coastal plain
Natalie joined the Agency in 1996, after working at Curtin University with Associate Professor J.D. Majer on habitat fragmentation of the wheat belt. Previous to that she worked for an Environmental Consultancy business undertaking various projects on rehabilitation of mine sites, vegetation surveys and invertebrate recolonisation on mined areas. During her studies she investigated the use of ants as biological indicators of road verge vegetation quality. She is currently studying part-time. She is a member of the Australian Entomological Society.
